Die Animationskünstlerin und Produzentin Vessela Dantcheva ist auf Einladung von Prof. Rosangela de Araujo zu Gast an der KHM. In einer öffentlichen Abendveranstaltung präsentiert sie das Poetry- und Animationsprojekt „MARK & VERSE“  Das von Vessela Dantcheva initiierte Langzeitprojekt (2014–2022) umfasst 12 kurze Animationsfilme, die mit verschiedenen Animationstechniken realisiert und von der künstlerischen Plattform „Compote Collective“ produziert wurden. Jeder Film wird von einem anderen künstlerischen Tandem (Dichter*in und Regisseur*in) erstellt. Die Compilation „MARK & VERSE“ (55 Min.) vereint Poesie und Animation und schafft eine neue filmische Form – animierte Poesie. „Mein Wunsch, eine Reihe poetischer Kurzfilme zu realisieren, wurde mit der Gründung der künstlerischen Plattform ‚Compote Collective‘ geboren. Aus persönlicher Erfahrung weiß ich, wie herausfordernd und zugleich inspirierend die Verbindung von Poesie und Animation sein kann. Ich wollte diese Erfahrung mit meinen Kolleg*innen teilen und sie dazu anregen, ein Gedicht zu finden und es in einen Animationsfilm zu verwandeln. So entstand vor acht Jahren die Idee zum Projekt ‚Mark & Verse‘“, schreibt Vessela Dantcheva.

Vessela Dantcheva wurde 1975 in Bulgarien geboren. Sie studierte an der Art Academy Willem de Kooning in Rotterdam. 2001 schloss sie mit dem Kurzfilm „Pull Over“ ihr Studium ab. 2004 baute sie gemeinsam mit Regisseur Ivan Bogdanov ihr eigenes Animationsstudio „finfilm“ auf, 2008 gründeten die beiden die Produktionsfirma „Compote Collective“ in Sofia, Bulgarien.
